If you are considering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, you might be wondering, “How soon will I start to feel better?” It is a common question—especially for those seeking timely and effective relief from mental health challenges. Knowing what to expect from the treatment timeline can help you approach TMS with clarity and confidence.
At Beautiful Minds Medical, we take a wholistic approach to mental health, treating not just symptoms but the underlying causes of emotional distress. Our integrative care model, including evidence-based therapies like NeuroStar TMS, is designed to support your healing journey every step of the way. NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to activate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. By stimulating neural pathways that may be underactive due to depression or other mental health conditions, TMS helps restore healthier brain function over time.
This FDA-cleared therapy is safe, well-tolerated, and requires no downtime—so you can return to your daily routine right after each session. Unlike traditional medications, TMS does not cause systemic side effects of medications, which many of our patients find to be a major benefit.
One of the first questions our patients ask is, “How long will it take for NeuroStar TMS therapy to start working?” And the honest answer is—it depends.
Many patients begin to notice improvements after just a few sessions. In some clinical trials, individuals reported feeling relief from depression symptoms as early as the first or second treatment. While early progress is encouraging, it is important to understand that TMS therapy is designed to work gradually and cumulatively.
For the best and most lasting results, we recommend completing the full course of treatment, which typically spans six to seven weeks. Each session builds on the last, helping to retrain the brain’s mood-regulating pathways over time. Some people may experience steady improvements throughout the process, while others might see more noticeable changes toward the end.
No matter your timeline, our specialists are here to support you through each step. Completing the full treatment course gives you the greatest chance for long-term success and sustained symptom relief.
At Beautiful Minds Medical, we do not just focus on treating symptoms but also aim to address the underlying causes of mental health challenges. Your journey with NeuroStar TMS therapy is part of a broader, wholistic approach incorporating nutritional interventions, exercise, hydrotherapy, healthy spirituality, nature exposure, breathing exercises, and more.
