Conditions Treated by Rocklin PrTMS® Therapy

When you are living with depression or another mental health condition, it can feel as though your options are limited. You may have tried medications, lifestyle changes, or therapy, but found they do not give you the relief you need. This can leave you feeling discouraged, especially if the side effects of medications are difficult to manage or you do not feel like yourself anymore.

There is still hope for you. Personalized repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or PrTMS® therapy, offers a different path forward when other treatments do not work. Many people who pursue this treatment find meaningful improvement in their symptoms. If you have one of the conditions treated by Rocklin PrTMS® Therapy, you may be encouraged to know this approach is helping people reclaim their lives when standard treatments fall short.

What Is TMS Therapy?

TMS therapy is a cutting-edge treatment that directly stimulates the areas of your brain that control mood. During a PrTMS® session, you sit comfortably while a small device is placed near your head. This device delivers magnetic pulses that target the parts of the brain involved in mood and emotion.

Unlike medications, TMS therapy does not circulate through your bloodstream, so you avoid many of the side effects linked to antidepressants, including:

  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain
  • Change to libido

This convenience is part of why many people in Rocklin are exploring what conditions are treated by PrTMS®, and find it to be a hopeful and practical option.

Conditions That TMS Therapy Can Treat

At Beautiful Minds Medical, your treatment plan will always be personalized. We focus on building a plan for your needs based on the condition you are struggling with. PrTMS® could provide meaningful benefits to patients in Rocklin for common conditions that include the following.

Depression

Depression is the most common reason people seek out TMS therapy. If you struggle with sadness, low energy, lack of motivation, or a sense of hopelessness, TMS may help by directly stimulating the parts of the brain that regulate mood in a way that traditional medication has not.

Anxiety

Emerging studies suggest that TMS therapy may help reduce symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and other anxiety-related conditions. By calming overactive areas of the brain linked to worry and tension, PrTMS® has the potential to restore balance and reduce daily stress.

OCD

TMS can also treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This condition can feel overwhelming when unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviors take over your life. TMS has been shown to reduce OCD symptoms by targeting specific brain regions involved in compulsive thought patterns.

Adolescent Indications for Use

Important Safety Information

The most common side effect is pain or discomfort at or near the treatment site. These events are transient, occurring during the TMS treatment course and typically not recurring for most patients after the first week of treatment. There is a rare risk of seizure associated with the use of TMS therapy (<0.1% per patient).

PrTMS® Advanced Therapy should not be used with patients who have non-removable conductive metal in or near the head. PrTMS® Advanced Therapy has not been studied in patients who have not received prior antidepressant treatment.
