TMS Therapy for Depression in Auburn

Depression is one of the most common mental health concerns in the world. In fact, in the United States alone, approximately 21 million adults are affected by depression each year. For many men and women, depression and depression symptoms can be managed sufficiently and effectively with traditional treatments, such as medication and psychotherapy. However, not all people necessarily benefit from these traditional treatments on their own.

For individuals who struggle with other treatments, we proudly offer NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy. Discover if NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy for depression in Auburn is right for you. Schedule your consultation with the team at Beautiful Minds Medical today.

How Does NeuroStar Advanced TMS Therapy Treat Depression?

Patients with depression often have lower brain activity in areas that control mood, emotion, and behavior. This reduced activity leads to symptoms like persistent sadness, low energy, loss of interest in socializing, and feelings of emotional numbness. These issues can significantly affect daily life and overall well-being.

NeuroStar therapy uses safe electromagnetic pulses to  stimulate these underactive brain areas, effectively “waking them up.” This process helps improve emotional regulation and mood, encouraging social engagement and reducing feelings of depression. Over time, your brain can even learn to maintain this improved activity on its own.

There are many reasons why NeuroStar is considered to be the gold-standard in TMS therapy for our patients. Here are just a few of them:

  • Unlike psychotherapy, NeuroStar targets the physical symptoms of depression directly for enduring, long-lasting relief
  • NeuroStar is very convenient: the treatment regimen consists of a seven-week course of 19-minute sessions, with no recovery time needed post-treatment—ensuring minimal disruption to your daily routine
  • NeuroStar has been demonstrated to result in minor, mild side-effects, that subside after a few treatment sessions and can be easily treated with over-the-counter pain relief
  • NeuroStar can be customized to your needs as part of a tailored treatment program designed specifically for you
  • The technology behind NeuroStar is very safe; in fact, it is similar to technology used in MRI treatments
  • NeuroStar is also very affordable for our patients. Many major American insurance providers cover this treatment
