Living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be exhausting. Symptoms such as intrusive memories, anxiety, hypervigilance, sleep disturbances, and emotional distress can affect nearly every aspect of your daily life. While traditional therapies and medications could help, you may continue to struggle despite your best efforts.
If you have tried treatment and have not experienced significant symptom relief, personalized repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (PrTMS®) treatment may offer another option. At Beautiful Minds Medical in Auburn, we take a wholistic approach to mental health care and can help you understand how PrTMS® treatments work for PTSD patients in Rocklin.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, our team works to identify the underlying contributors to your emotional distress and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your mind, body, and spirit.
PrTMS® is a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of your brain that help regulate mood and process emotions. This technology is similar to MRI technology, but clinicians use it differently to help support brain function.
Instead of a single protocol for everyone, PrTMS® uses advanced brain mapping and individualized treatment protocols to create a plan based on your neurological patterns. This personalized PrTMS® approach to PTSD care helps our clinicians tailor treatment for our Rocklin patients.
PTSD can alter how certain brain regions communicate with one another. These changes may contribute to:
Clinicians use PrTMS® treatment for PTSD for patients we serve in Rocklin to deliver carefully targeted magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain that may influence PTSD symptoms. Over time, this approach may support communication within neural networks that affect emotional regulation and cognitive function.
For our patients in Rocklin, we typically schedule PrTMS® treatments for PTSD five days per week for approximately seven weeks, although you may benefit from a longer treatment course. Our providers determine your treatment length based on your needs and response to therapy.
PrTMS® sessions generally last 30 to 40 minutes. During each session, you remain awake and sit comfortably while a specialized device positioned near your scalp delivers magnetic pulses.
Like any medical treatment, PrTMS® carries a moderate risk of side effects. Before you begin treatment, we review potential risks, benefits, and expectations based on your medical history and needs.
At Beautiful Minds Medical, we believe that mental health involves far more than brain chemistry alone. Our goal is to address the bio-psycho-social-spiritual aspects of wellness while helping patients discover potential root causes of their symptoms. Our CHOOSE LIFE framework reflects this philosophy:
These principles may include nutritional interventions, exercise programs, hydrotherapy, breathing exercises, healthy spirituality, meaningful relationships, and spending time in nature. For patients we serve in Rocklin, our team tailors PrTMS® care for PTSD to your needs and goals.
If PTSD symptoms interfere with your quality of life despite treatment efforts, PrTMS® may be worth exploring. A comprehensive evaluation at our office in Auburn can help determine whether this personalized approach could meet your needs.
At Beautiful Minds Medical, we combine advanced technology with a wholistic philosophy that supports your mind, body, and spirit.
